Making Surf Foam

White Hot Foam SS-EPS is manufactured specifically for surfboards by our parent company, Prowall. Prowall owns and operates large, modern EPS facilities in California and Arizona where SS-EPS is molded and computer cut.

EPS begins as tiny resin beads, which are expanded and then molded into blocks that are sent to our blank manufacturing facility in California.

Owning and operating our own EPS plant has allowed us to experiment with different raw materials and produce the best EPS foam ever available for surfboards in North America.

The superior bead pack and fusion in our SS-EPS creates a matrix so tight that the water intrusion rate is no different than that of the polyurethane of the past.

Resin beads are introduced into the pre-expander and bed dryer.

This matrix also produces an EPS that shapes better than any other EPS foam on the market. White Hot foam is a consistent density throughout the entire blank unlike the “shape molded” EPS units that are in the market today.

Expanded beads are stored in vast open bags to equalize to the correct level of pressure.
A block of EPS emerges from one of ProWall's molding machines.
